It's my overstanding that these murals pay homage to the Brooklyn community's rich culture. This is part of the company's efforts to connect AppleBee's locations to the communities in which they're located.
Of course I was stunned to find out about all of this this, my image on an AppleBee's restaurant wall???!!! So, I'm currently awaiting more details before the entire story unfolds... ;-)
Applebee’s restaurants, are known for blanketing its walls with murals. This recent one currently displays a mural/collage featuring a few notable Brooklyn community members, local high school students, a boxer, entertainers, stars and iconic landmarks.
Applebee’s is an important part of brooklyn neighborhoods and the colorful new photo murals reflects that. AppleBee's is one of the largest franchisees in the U.S. In keeping with Applebee’s “hometown” theme, the images of the full-color wall art are from the local community. There's the Brooklyn bridge with the sign 'Welcome To Brooklyn.' Like No Other Place In The World, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens with cherry blossoms in season, Grand Army Plaza Archway, the Band Shell in Prospect Park; also Spike Lee and Fourth of July fireworks.
Applebee’s guests will also notice that, to the delight of local sports fans, the restaurant’s interior has been populated with HD flat screen televisions. Still, the focal points of the restaurant is the colorful mural which entices guests to get up from their seats in search of photos of family and friends; also take pictures to share on social media!
Applebee’s does not just talk about the neighborhood, it’s also actively involved. Community connections are an important part of what they're about. They help support local neighbors through fundraisers and sponsorships that benefit the schools, local organizations and neighbors in need. The new photo mural is the perfect way to salute the neighbors.
