It's two days before Labor Day 2013, and I finally have a moment to sit down and share my experience of vending at AfroPunk Music Fest (which some are calling...The other black experience). Last weekend, I teamed up with my friend Rain of Ka-RainDrops (she's on Etsy.com also) to share a very expensive booth at AfroPunk. Folks were super busy, lots to see and do with this year's MTV VMAs happening at Barclay Center downtown. While on the other side of Brooklyn in Fort Green, AfroPunk festival took place (August 24th & 25th) in Commodore Barry park. It was my first experience, but she's a veteran. We introduced our creativity to hundreds of newbies; my Ancient Blends plant-based hair & body care product line and her 'one of a kind wearables & magickal tools.' We really enjoyed the experienced. I must agree with the numerous complaints that the way this event was set up, the majority of the crowd (thousands) did not actually venture into the marketplace to patronize the vendors. We would have been a whole lot happier if they did. But as you know, it's always something. On the other hand, I personally felt as though that weekend somehow magically impacted me on many other levels. There was a lot going on as you may have already heard. This post would've be waaaaay too long if I even attempted to cover everything...so stay tuned for the manifestation ;-)!!!
The Event
