 Back in late October, I received a call offering me an opportunity...something about facilitating a Holistic Wellness program somewhere?
Me: Where? What? Okay, I'll try to call you back...I was waaay up to my neck in my new temporary custody/full-time great auntie position!!! What I NOW REALIZE was that I was about to be baptized by fire during that time/ an initiatory process very necessary to prepare me for THIS NEXT LEVEL!!! Fast forward to last night; I received another... call informing me that I was now HIRED, HAND PICKED to create and teach a Holistic Wellness Lifestyle Approach program to 'The Agency's' Trainers at a New York City Administration For Children's Services (ACS) facility... Me: when did I apply??? Perhaps it was there all along and now your eyes are opened….” KELLEY ROSANO This great news had me #SLEEPLESSINBROOKLYN last night!!! And I accept with plenty tools ready and capable for the job! We always hear, "chile this situation/circumstance/experience is preparing you for Something big!" Or "God's got something great planned for you!" The past few months (125 days... there's that #8 again) pulled me completely out of every comfortable corner I'd created for myself! Covers snatched off!!!! Exposed to the bone! It really felt like that.! In some ways it actually happened!. My sacred time was no longer my own. I've been like 'PREPARING ME FUH WAT' (in my Bajan accent😀LOLOLOL)... Thank you all for your kind words, continued support and your love. What Many of you did not know is...my husband and I received kinship custody of my two great nephews ages 10 and 6yrs old on September 23rd 2014. I'd just completed the most successful Autumn equinox detox fast evah! So, I thought that meant that I was now ready to choose what I'd do next! well HAH! Those middle of the night phone call are/ can be real life changers aka game changers (whatever the news... seems like hmmm) then, down and through the rabbit hole we went. Being abruptly introduced to one horrific reality inside The Agency Children Services (ACS) world after another! Hmmmm...I feel 'the book' tryna force it's way out as I write this LOL! Okay. I know what's next! I love you'll... do the right thing always y'all! It makes all the difference in the world! One day, while in one of their meetings at 'The Agency,' LOL I pulled out my medicine bag, reached in my for my aura spritz and commenced to spraying myself!!!! A supervisor had just said something OFF to me and then I closed my eyes and so I started humming for a few. Oh yes, our 10th wedding anniversary is next... January 11th, 2015. Right in between both hubby and I mourning the loss of a very dear friend and our family members (my mom, his cousin and best friend) this season. I looked up at our wedding pic on the mantel and thought WE'RE STILL HERE!!!! LOVING EACH OTHER STILL!!! Well, how long has it been???? Omg it's been ten years~ one whole decade!!!! Lololol... We tend to get/stay busy doing. Not busy being,,, he... says "we need to look at each other more! " So true! We take it for granted that we're going to be here for a long, long time. The real time is now, this very moment. Trust and believe we've had plenty, plenty, plenty causes to bend and waiver over these past 15 years of validating each other's existence and experiences. That said, I give thanks for his love, his life and our journey so far. We're also thanking our ancestors that we haven't been broken by the numerous trials over these passing years. Ashe'  It's our 10th wedding Anniversary tomorrow! As long as we’re together, it’s a celebration of our marriage. And we celebrate pretty much every single day with a smile and simply holding hands as we fall asleep. Nope, not kidding. No fancy hotel rooms or buckets of champagne required.  He patiently puts up with a lot from me. I haven't always been patient with him. All of our issues have taken these 10 years and are still being worked through. Trust me, that’s not easy!  Thank you for taking out the trash every week, even though it’s so early and you’re rushing to work.  Thank you for taking the time to ask, “What can I do to help you, honey?”  Thank you for being so patient with me in so many ways that I can’t even begin to describe.  We Did...10 years ago today!!!  Today is our 10th wedding Anniversary!!! We've been married for a decade now. Wow! We've come so far in these past 10 years. We've learned and grown a lot. And we look forward to seeing what the universe has planned for us in the decades to come  We're bless to bare witness to each other's life experiences...Tua Neter (Thank You Divine )  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11  I wasn’t always sure of it. I had my doubts at times. But, now, as we are celebrating 10 years married, 15 years together, I've learned that marriage requires two people working towards one common goal...A DIVINE UNION  During his speech (3 yrs ago), he announced to our friends and family "we're now at cruising altitude."  It’s kinda cool to have this special bond...Some asked what's the secret? I replied, I'm still learning, still on the journey...hmmm so far I can say we're friends, we truly want this marriage and we respect each other.  We noticed each other at a Moshood fashion show about 20 years ago...it was real casual tho. You see, I was already married!!! LOL  I never want to be one of those people who are always bragging about their perfect kids, perfect family, their perfectness....cause honestly it's still perfect in it's imperfections cause we are all still learning and growing. But the less energies involved the better. Marriage is so delicate and everyone makes mistakes...we're still growing stronger and wiser from the hundreds of our mistakes! SHEEESH!  there's an underlining element in all of these photos...on This 7th wedding anniversary LIFE had us managing one of the most painful events in my life...but LOVE held us, carried us through and kept us strong throughout.
